Need help to repair the chair?

I found a very cool chair in very old form of a flea market for $ 5. It is in very good shape and solid (without moving your arms or legs). However, it lacks the seat, I could imagine was once a seat that has developed the cane fell. I prefer not back at the helm of a new seat (I did that before, but I do not feel comfortable to sit in the seats, and are not good). I prefer to put in a padded upholstered seat, I'm not sure how? There is one major hole in the center where the seat used to be, and I can not think of ways to attach a piece of wood with padding of and upholstery. There has to be super strong, because you have no more than 170 pounds per person in it, and probably will not use every day (which is for our bedroom). Ideas? Get a piece of 1 / 4 "or 3 / 8 "plywood in the center of the building (places like Home Depot usually have small cuts, as 24" x 24 "which is all that required.) Use a piece of paper or cardboard great for defining the contours of sitting in the chair all the way to the outer edge. Using the model, then cut timber in this way.
