Mystery Table! Anyone ever heard of a Majik Lignum table? Definitely not junk!?
Hey everybody!
I recently bought a very nice table from Craigslist but something about it seems very unique.
The table in question is a square/oblong Dining Room table, solid (dark stained) oak with barley-twist legs, plus two insert pieces to seat 8-10 people round when fully opened. I was told by the owner that it was “made in the 30s or 40s” but the table has features that really stand out. It’s really opens up smooth and it’s very solid (it’s definitely not from IKEA)!
It has a trademark stamped at the top of the legs with a number. The trade mark is in the form of a large tree shaped like a playing card ‘club’ with a large capital A in the centre, the name of the table is a ‘Majik’ table and the company trade name is Lignum.
I don’t want to part with this table only to find out later that it’s mega-valuable! Does anyone know ANYTHING about Majik or Lignum? I’ve looked everywhere, Yahoo, Google, Dogpile and nothing comes up – HELP!
Its a good company with good furniture. I’ve been a couple places with those products and they are very durable. Enjoy.
