I'm trying to push the source of some cap bulbs glass with a wide base and 4.6 a total length of 20 mm. are 6V and 1.7W. I'm in the UK

T is the number of 1/8th the diameter of the bulb or tube. Yes, T8 = 8 / 8 "= 1" T5 = 5 / 8 "=. 625" T12 = 12 / 8 "= 1.5" Unfortunately, the metric system adopted the name, even if t T8 also could be 8 mm and so on.
