Hungarian Language $81.25 Hungarian is a Uralic language (more specifically an Ugric language) unrelated to most other languages in Europe. It is mainly spoken in Hungary and by the Hungarian minorities in the seven neighbouring countries. The Hungarian name for the language is magyar, which is also occasionally used as an English noun, such as Mighty Magyars. There are about 14.5 million native speakers, of whom 9.510 million live in modernday Hungary. A further two million speakers live outside presentday Hungary, but in areas that were part of the Kingdom of Hungary before the Treaty of Trianon (1920). Of these, the largest group lives in Romania, where there are approximately 1.4 million Hungarians (see Hungarian minority in Romania). Hungarianspeaking people are also to be found in Slovakia, Serbia, Ukraine, Croatia, Austria, and Slovenia, as well as about a million people scattered in other parts of the world (see Geographic distribution). There are hundreds of thousands of Hungarian speakers in the Hungarian American community in the United States. Hungarian Grammar $101.96 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Hungarian grammar is the study of the rules governing the use of the Hungarian language, a FinnoUgric language spoken in Hungary and in adjacent areas of the seven neighboring countries, parts of which belonged to Hungary before 1920. Neutral Hungarian sentences have a subjectverbobject word order, like English. Hungarian is a null subject language, meaning the subject does not have to be explicitly stated. Word order is determined not by syntactic roles, but rather by pragmatic factors. Emphasis is placed on the word or phrase immediately preceding the finite verb. Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 144 Publication Date: 2011/03/22 Language: English Dimensions: 5.98 x 9.02 x 0.34 inches |

Hungarian People $105.14 Hungarians are an ethnic group primarily associated with Hungary. There are around 10 million Hungarians in Hungary. Hungarians were the main inhabitants of the Kingdom of Hungary that existed through most of the second millennium. The territory of this country was dismembered at the Treaty of Trianon, and as a result, 3,425,000 Hungarians found themselves separated from their motherland. Their numbers today are: in the territories of presentday Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, Ukraine, Austria (40,583), Croatia (16,500), the Czech Republic (14,600) and Slovenia (10,000). Significant groups of people with Hungarian ancestry live in various other parts of the world, but unlike the Hungarians living within the former Kingdom of Hungary, only some of these largely preserve the Hungarian language and traditions. The Hungarians can be classified in several subgroups according to local linguistic and cultural characteristics. Hungarian ethnic subgroups that have a distinct identity are the Szkelys, Csngs, Jassic people and Palcs. Hungarian Crown $71.7 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The socalled Hungarian Crown was a part of the Polish Crown Jewels. It was made in the 16th century, resembling the Crown of Saint Stephen, as a private crown of John II Sigismund Zapolya. In about 1576 the crown was bequeathed to the State Treasury at the Wawel Castle, where it was kept until October 1795. Stolen by the Prussian soldiers, found its place in the collections of the Hohenzollerns in Berlin. After 1809 it was destroyed just as the majority of Polish regalia. The Hungarian Crown was made in the form of the rims covered with the globe and a cross on their intersection. It was decorated with enamel plaques, filigree work, pendants and precious stones including four large sapphires and rubies. In the 18th century the crown was depited in the portrait of Louis I of Hungary by Marcello Bacciarelli, painted to embellish the Marble Room at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Hungarian Jews $82.85 Hungarian Jews have existed since at least the 11th Century. After struggling against discrimination throughout the Middle Ages, the community grew to be 5 of Hungarys population by the early 20th Century and were prominent in areas of science, art and business. Under communist rule, discrimination against the small remaining Jews still in Hungary continued as Zionism was banned and the number of Jews shrank to even smaller levels. Today between 50,000 and 100,000 Jews live in Hungary, mostly in Budapest. The intermarriage rates for Jews is around 60. There are many active synagogues in Hungary including the Dohny Street Synagogue, the second largest synagogue in Europe and one of the largest in the world. 2002 Hungarian Grand Prix $109.93 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Results from the 2002 Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix held at Hungaroring on August 18, 2002. The first Hungarian Grand Prix (Hungarian: Magyar Nagydj) was held on June 21, 1936 over a 3.1mile (5.0 km) track laid out in Npliget, a park in Budapest. The MercedesBenz, Auto Union, and Ferrari teams all sent three cars and the event drew a very large crowd. However, politics and the ensuing war meant the end of Grand Prix motor racing in the country for fifty years. A major coup by Bernie Ecclestone, the 1986 Hungarian Grand Prix was the first Formula One race to take place behind the Iron Curtain. Held at the twisty Hungaroring near Budapest, the race has been a mainstay of the racing calendar. Run in the heat of a central European summer, it also held the distinction of being the only current Grand Prix venue that had never seen a wet race up until the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix. The first Grand Prix saw 200,000 people spectating, although tickets were expensive at the time. Today, the support is still very enthusiastic, particularly from Finns.
