A cube with sides 5 In long is covered with a fiberglass coating….?
…the fiber glass coating is .03 In thick. what is the volume of t fiberglass shell?
For what it’s worth, “raleigh_jazz_fan” got the right answer, Norrie actually showed the work (which no one else did) but made a tiny error in allowing for the thickness of the coating
= 2 x (5 x 5 x 0.03) + 4 x (5 x 5.06 x 0.03)
should have been: = 2 x (5 x 5 x 0.03) + 4 x (5.03 x 5.06 x 0.03)
However 5.06^3 – 5^3 would have worked as well.
But really, the 4.5 in³ answer is probably all one needs
