What is the cost of living in Germany? Could you please also tell me something specifically about Dresden?
THANKS Thanks and thanks again!
I lived in Germany for three years while in the RAF and the cost of living was relatively high compared to the UK.
However, there are some benefits and this site offers as good an explanation as I’ve seen.

Dresden was famous for it’s china, during WW2 it was left vitually undefended because of this and there was nothing there of military value.
However towards the very end of the war, whether it was to show Hitler that the allies could fly right across Germany, ot probably as an act of revenge, the city was totally destroyed by three major 1,000 bomber attacks, the first by the RAF using high explosives to shatter the mainly wooden buidings, within hours a second attack with incendiary bombs to cause a ‘fire storm’ and within twelve hours by the Americans.
Because the city was flooded with refugees from the East, no one knows how many were killed, some put the estimates at more than 250,000, there were not enough live people left to bury the dead so they stacked them up and made huge funeral pyres, it remains one of the great war crimes of WW2.
